A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF POLYISOCYANURATES WHEREIN COMPOUNDS OR MIXTURES OF COMPOUNDS CONTAINING AT LEAST TWO ISOCYANATE GROUPS ARE REACTED IN THE PRESENCE OF BASIC COMPOUNDS CONTAINING AT LEAST TWO AROMATIC NUCLEI AND AT LEAST ON ARALIPHATICALLY BOUND TERTIARY AMINO FUNCTION PER MOLECULE.
Abstract:
SYNTHETIC RESINS ESPECIALLY FOAMS ARE PREPARED BY POLYMERISATION OF COMPOUNDS WHICH CONTAIN MORE THAN ONE ISOCYANATE GROUP IN THE MOLECULE, IN THE PRESENCE OF MANNICH BASE CATALYST WHICH ARE OBTAINED BY REACTION BETWEEN DIMETHYLAMINE, FORMALDEHYDE AND PHENOLS WHICH CONTAIN IN THE MOLECULE AT LEAST ONE ORGAINC SUBSTITUENT WHICH HAS AT LEAST 6 CARBON ATOMS, OPTIONALLY, IN THE PRESENCE OF LESS THAN EQUIVALENT QUANTITIES OF COMPOUNDS WHICH CONTAIN ACTIVE HYDROGEN ATOMS AND THE USUAL AUXILIARY AGENTS.

A PROCESS IS PROVIDED FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SYNTHETIC RESINS BASED ON ISOCYANATES USING BASIC CATALYSTS WHEREIN COMPOUNDS HAVING MORE THAN ONE ISOCYANATE GROUP IN THE MOLECULE ARE POLYMERIZED USING ALKALI METAL SALTS OF AROMATIC O-HYDROXYCARBOXYLIC ACIDS AS THE POLYMERIZATION CATALYST.
Abstract:
Synthetic resins which contain isocyanurate groups, especially foam materials are prepared by polymerization of compounds which contain more than one isocyanate group in the molecule in the presence of mononuclear Mannich bases of secondary amines, formaldehyde and phenols which Mannich bases are capable of incorporation in the polymer molecule and which contain, in addition to a substituted aminomethyl group and a phenolic OH group, at least one other group which contains hydrogen atoms which react with isocyanates.
