摘要： The space between two bodies moving relatively to each other is partitioned in order to form a plurality of overpressured or underpressured fluid cushions. The partitioning is provided by a waffled flexible sheet fixed to one of the two bodies whereby to confine, jointly with the other body, the space therebetween, while at the same time subdividing the same into a plurality of contiguous cells separated from one another by the upstanding waffles on said waffled sheet. The cells are nested into one another, with central cells surrounded by peripheral cells.
