    Abstract: The invention provides a flame retardant polyolefin composition comprising a) an ethylene based plastomer with a density in the range of 0.850 to 0.915 g/cm3 and an MFR2 in the range 0.5-30 g/10 min; b) a propylene based plastomer with a density in the range of 0.860 to 0.910 g/cm3 and an MFR2 in the range 0.01-30 g/10 min; and c) a flame retardant.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a polyolefin composition which provides improved contrast of laser marks. It is suitable for many applications where precise marking of a molded article made of a polyolefin composition is required, e.g. as outer layer of a wire or cable or in automotive applications. The polyolefin composition of the present invention comprises a polyolefin, carbon black in an amount of 0.25 to 1.0 wt % and an optical brightener in an amount of 0.001 to 0.1 wt %. The present invention is further directed to a molded article comprising the polyolefin composition of the present invention. Further on, the present invention is directed to the use of the polyolefin composition of the present invention as an outer layer of a cable. Finally, the present invention is directed to a method of inducing print on a molded article by laser printing.
