Abstract:
A recanalization catheter for facilitating re-entry into a lumen of a blood vessel from a subintimal space. The recanalization catheter includes first and second mechanically actuatable wings positioned at a distal region of the elongate shaft of the catheter that are actuatable between a retracted position and an expanded position. In the retracted position the mechanically actuatable wings are positioned in first and second elongate channels defined in the elongate shaft, and in the expanded position the mechanically actuatable wings extend outward from the first and second elongate channels. The actuatable wings extend in an arcuate path away from the elongate shaft in the expanded position to be positionable in a circumferential orientation within a subintimal space formed in a vessel wall to automatically orient a lateral port of the elongate shaft toward the true lumen.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure describe a balloon catheter. The balloon catheter may include a catheter shaft including a proximal shaft, a midshaft attached to the proximal shaft, and a distal shaft attached to the midshaft. A balloon may be coupled to the distal shaft. An inflation lumen may be defined in the catheter shaft that extends from the proximal shaft, through the midshaft, and into the distal shaft. The inflation lumen may be in fluid communication with the balloon. A core wire may be extending through a portion of the inflation lumen. A push member may be coupled to the core wire, the push member being configured to engage an inner wall surface of the catheter shaft.
Abstract:
A catheter assembly comprises a catheter having a distal end and a longitudinal axis, a stent disposed about the distal end of the catheter, and a stent protector. The stent protector has a stent covering portion disposed about the stent and a catheter engagement portion that removably engages the stent protector to the catheter assembly. The stent covering portion is disposed about the stent without substantially engaging the stent.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure describe an example guide extension catheter. The guide extension catheter may include a proximal shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, the distal end having an attachment region. The guide extension catheter may further include a distal sheath having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen extending therebetween. The distal sheath may include an outer layer, inner layer and an intermediate reinforcing member disposed between the inner layer and the outer layer. Moreover, the distal sheath is attached to the attachment region adjacent to the reinforcing member.
