The NGV STA may encode a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) in accordance with an enhanced PHY layer protocol. The PPDU may be encoded for transmission in a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) frequency band. The NGV STA may encode the PPDU to include a preamble, one or more data portions, and one or more midambles. The one or more midambles may occur within the PPDU after the preamble and after at least one of the data portions. The NGV STA may encode a preamble that includes an NGV SIG-A field that indicates: whether the PPDU includes the one or more midambles, and a periodicity of the one or more midambles.
