In an embodiment, the mixing nozzle fitment includes a first shaft defining an inlet passage, a second shaft defining a curved outlet passage and attached to the first shaft, and a coupling member attached to the second shaft. The coupling member defines a passage that leads into the curved outlet passage of the second shaft. A flexible tube is attached to the coupling member. A temperature-controlled system is connected with the thermal exchange units for controlling them independently to independently heat or cool the cassettes in the bays and the food product that is disposed therein. The invention relates to a pouch assembly that includes a main pouch body adapted to receive an amount of flowable food, a fitment member sealingly attached to the pouch on a lower portion of one side of the body, and an outlet demarcated by the fitment member. The lower portion is capable of flexing at substantially 90 degrees with respect to the rest of the body to orient the fitment member downward when the pouch is supported in a standing position for product delivery. Also, a spacer member is provided for at least partially engaging the fitment member to maintain a sufficient clearance between the outlet and the inside of the pouch to allow evacuation of the flowable product through the outlet. Such a pouch assembly is suitable for food delivery in a cassette-type dispenser.

A device for effecting transfer of material from a container by piercing the container. The device includes a fitment member that includes a portion having a bore and a base end capable of being attached to a container; a spout member that has a piercing end; and a portion of tube having an outer surface capable of mating in axial relationship with the portion of bore of the fitment member so as to form mating surfaces. The device preferably has a locking assembly that is adapted to lock the fitment and spout members together in a position whereby the piercing end is in piercing engagement with the container. The device also includes at least one sealing member that is arranged to seal the portion of tube and the portion of bore in a position between the locking assembly and the piercing end so as to leave the mating surfaces downstream including the locking assembly substantially cleansed of the flowable material.
