Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for video processing. A method for video processing is proposed. The method comprises: obtaining, for a conversion between a current video block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a motion candidate list for the current video block; determining, based on a similarity metric between a first motion candidate and a second motion candidate in the motion candidate list, whether to update the motion candidate list; and performing the conversion based on the determination.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for video processing. A method for video processing is proposed. The method comprises: determining, during a conversion between a current video block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a motion candidate for the current video block based on merge mode with motion vector differences (MMVD) with an initial set of search points, a first direction of a first search point in the initial set of search points being non-vertical and non-horizontal; and performing the conversion based on the motion candidate. Compared with the conventional solution, the proposed method can advantageously improve coding efficiency and coding quality.

Abstract: A method, device, and storage/recording medium for image encoding, including: obtaining first coding information for a first coding unit, in a first image, indicating a scheme for encoding the first coding unit into a first bitstream of the first image; determining, based on a relative position relationship between a target region in a second image obtained from the first image and a second coding unit in the second image, a reuse mode for the second coding unit regarding the first coding information, the second coding unit corresponding to the first coding unit, the target region indicating a region in the second image different from the first image; determining second coding information for the second coding unit based on the reuse mode; and generating a second bitstream for the second image based on the second coding information. Thereby, reducing computational complexity of transcoding and avoiding degradation of coding performance/quality.

Abstract: A method of video processing includes performing a conversion between a current video block of a second color component of a video and a bitstream of the video using a cross-component prediction with multiple-parameter model (CCPMPM) in which samples of the current video block are predictively coded in the bitstream using a linear combination of samples of a first color component multiplied by linear coefficients and/or one or more offsets. The bitstream conforms to a format rule. The linear coefficients of the CCPMPM are determined using a first rule. The samples of the first color component are determined using a second rule.
