摘要： An intelligent electronic device (IED) includes a base module having a power monitoring circuit operative to monitor a parameter of a portion of a power distribution system and generate an analog signal representative thereof. The base module also includes a processor coupled with the power monitoring circuit, the processor having an analog to digital converter operative to convert the analog signal to a digital signal representative thereof. The processor operates to implement a first power management functionality and generate first power management data. At least one of a display and a communications interface couple with the processor and communicate the first power management data external to the IED. A first interface couples with the processor and the communications interface. The first interface operates to receive a first external function module. The first external function module includes a second power management functionality, where the first interface further facilitates implementation of the second power management functionality.

摘要： Devices that couple to high voltage transmission lines obtain power themselves using the body capacitance of an element of the devices. The devices generate a comparatively lower voltage from the current flowing between the high voltage line and the element of the device that generates the body capacitance. The devices can be used to operate sensors that monitor the transmission lines or parameters of the power distribution system, such as current, line temperature, vibration, and the like. The devices can also be used as indicators, such as aircraft warning lights, information signs, etc. In addition, the devices can operate as RF transmission/reception or repeater devices, radar devices, mesh networking nodes, video/audio surveillance, sound emitting devices for scaring animals, drones that traverse the power line, etc. Because the devices operate in response to line voltage rather than current, the devices are reliable even in low current conditions.

摘要： The present invention provides computer-based systems and methods directed to maintaining a database of user profiles based, respectively, on user interaction with third-party systems. The invention includes the processes of: accessing a unique user profile associated with a unique user; automatically collecting, by an agent module executing on a processor associated with a first system, data associated with the unique user based at least in part on the unique user's interaction with a system unassociated with the first system; evaluating by the processor the collected data and searching available databases to identify potential items of interest to the unique user based at least in part on the unique user profile and the collected data; determining a set of predicted items of interest to the unique user from the identified potential items of interest; and presenting at a display associated with the unique user data representing the set of predicted items of interest. In one implementation, the invention provides an intelligent agent possessing a level of “awareness” concerning individual users associated with user profiles or accounts and is adapted to access private and public databases, websites, resources, and other systems to efficiently collect, filter and deliver/present content and resources of interest to the individual user in a predictive fashion.
