Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for aging a stone, preferably an artificial stone. The aging device comprises a rotary support operatively connected to a rotary shaft, at least one abrasive tool mounted to the rotary support for roughing and/or polishing a surface of the artificial stone when the rotary support is brought into functional contact with said surface, and biasing means that biasingly connect the abrasive tool to the rotary support. The biasing means urge the abrasive tool away from the rotary support while allowing the same to move toward the rotary support when the rotary support is brought into functional contact with the surface of the artificial stone, thereby allowing the abrasive tool to follow a surface profile of the artificial stone while roughing and/or polishing its surface.
Abstract:
An apparatus for treating selected at least partial surfaces of a masonry block, including at least a flail having a shaft with an axis of rotation in a vertical plane, at least a moving mechanism for moving one of the masonry blocks parallel to the vertical plane and the flail, mechanism for holding the masonry blocks with the selected surface to be treated at a distance from the shaft to be impacted by the flail.
Abstract:
A pre-cast siding panel for mortarless application to a building structure is disclosed, which includes a structure for capturing and draining infiltrated water away from the building structure. In a preferred embodiment, the siding panel includes a cast facing panel made of settable material and having a front face exposed in an installed condition of the panel and top, bottom and side edges for engagement with like panels positioned adjacent thereto; and a supporting spacer partially embedded in the rear surface of the facing panel, the spacer including a mounting portion for fastening the siding panel to the building structure and a water management portion for managing infiltrated water away from the building structure, by capturing infiltrated water which has seeped past the front face along one or more of the edges and draining the captured infiltrated water away from the building structure.

Abstract:
An artificial flagstone for use in combination with other similar flagstones for covering a surface with a natural random look, the flagstone having a generally hexagonal body comprising a first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth consecutive vertices; a first pair of generally congruent irregularly-shaped first and second sides extending radially from the first vertex and being rotationally spaced from each other by an angle α of approximately 120°; a second pair of generally congruent irregularly shaped third and fourth sides extending radially from the third vertex and being rotationally spaced from each other by an angle β of approximately 120°; a third pair of generally congruent irregularly shaped fifth and sixth sides extending radially from the fifth vertex and being rotationally spaced from each other by an angle ω of approximately 120°; wherein the sides of each of the first, second and third pair of sides have at least one split deviation along their length and are respectively rotational images of each other, whereby in use in combination with other flagstones, each one of the sides is matingly engageable with the sides of an equivalent pair of sides of a neighboring flagstone.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing a decorative finish on a wall, whereby a facing panel is provided to attach to a backing surface by way of a coupling means Dry cast panels are connected to the wall by way of a key way connector.
Abstract:
An improved curb section of precast concrete subdivided into modules by transverse grooves which give the appearance of shorter blocks and provide for fracturing the curb section at those locations. Each module of the curb section has a rearward T-shaped projection. L-shaped projection is formed at each end module of the curb section in proximity to the end face so that L-shaped projections of adjacent curb section form a projection equivalent to a T-shaped projection. T-shaped projections and an adjacent pair of L-shaped projections are anchored by sliding a channel-shaped anchor element which engages the projections and has a V-shaped lower end to penetrate the pavement or ground. The modules of the curb section can be of rectangular shape or tapered thereby defining rectilinear elongated curb sections or curved elongated curb sections which can be fastened adjacent to one another.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for forming a curb section of a predetermined length sub-divided into modules by transverse grooves which give the appearance of shorter blocks and provide for fracturing the curb section at those locations. Each module of the curb section includes a rearward fastening projection having a vertical bore for passing a nail to engage the curb section to pavement or other base. Such linear mold sections are all that are required when a curve is dictated. The mold sections are sub-divided into the modules to form the curve. The apparatus includes an open frame moving vertically against a platform and mold shoes for pressing down on the concrete when poured in the mold frame, including plugs for forming the tops of the fastening projections. According to the method, the plugs are removed after the mold frame is lifted, and then the shoes are removed to leave the formed curb sections on the bottom wall.
