Abstract:
Covering comprising a structure formed by a plurality of panels provided on their lower face with at least one guide formed by a groove giving access to a cavity and longitudinal profiles perpendicular to said grooves on the panels, said profiles having, in turn, a guide and clips housed simultaneously in the cavities of both guides of the panel and the profile, the clips having a resilient body that is housed, in the expanded position, in the corresponding cavity, said body comprising at least two legs, each leg having, in turn, a shoulder area intended to make contact with the wall of the cavity immediately adjacent to the groove.
Abstract:
A fastening device includes a receptor portion having an angled through hole extending from a first surface of the receptor portion to a second surface of the receptor portion, wherein the angled through hole has an angled axis. The fastening device further includes a top portion having at least a first flange and a second flange extending generally outwardly from the receptor portion. The flanges generally define a flange plane. The angled axis intersects the flange plane at an intersecting angle between 0 and 90 degrees.
Abstract:
A plank, and system and method for joining surface-covering planks, which includes a disengageable connector(s) for detachably connecting multiple planks simultaneously are described. A plank can include a tongue-profiled edge and an opposite rib-profiled edge, and a disengageable connector can have a groove that can be mated with the tongue on one side edge of the plank, and also has a rib-receiving portion that alternatively can be mated with a downward extending rib on the opposite side edge of the plank. The plank can have a variety of designs on the other edges of the plank.
Abstract:
A fastener for fixedly connecting two members in spaced relation to one another includes a substantially cylindrical shaft having two opposed ends and a central collar portion positioned between the ends. At least one outwardly extending cylindrical ridge is positioned adjacent the central collar portion on either side thereof. Each end of the shaft is inserted longitudinally into apertures defined in the members. The at least one ridge assists in retaining the respective shaft in a respective aperture. A connecting system and a method for connecting two elongated members with the fasteners is also provided.
Abstract:
Interlocking tongue and groove floor and wall panels use multiple bonded sheet construction, preferably three sheets, of material, such as plywood, bonded together Other rigid durable sheet materials may be used. The shape is preferably either square or rectangular. By offsetting the middle sheet layer so that two adjacent sides extend beyond the top and bottom layers which are in registration, a tongue is developed on two adjacent sides while the opposite sides will have grooves. Thus such panels can be used to cover a large floor or wall area using normal tongue-in-groove techniques by fitting the protruding tongues into the grooves of adjacent panels In an alternate embodiment, the middle sheet is smaller in size than the top and bottom sheets which are in registration. The middle sheet is centered within the top and bottom sheets thus forming grooves on all four edges.
Abstract:
An apparatus forming a assembly includes at least two panels. Each panel has a top surface and a plurality of perimetric edges. Each edge of one panel is adapted for joining any edge of another panel or to rounded edge pieces that connect is a complementary manner to the panels similar to other panels. The apparatus includes at least one connector adapted to secure two panels in adjoined relation. The connector has a first end adapted for engagement with the two adjoined panels, and a second end adapted to be swung into a locked position.
Abstract:
Described herein is a monolithic cementitious article with one or more pre-formed shaped regions. The shaped regions are generally channels that extend through a portion of the article or span the full article. The article includes one or more openings at least one of its ends. The article has a low apparent density with a high strength as well as high performance characteristics. The article when manufactured is suitable for use as a building product, such as siding, panel, trim, fascia, roofing, crown moulding, decking, and fencing.
Abstract:
A decking plank (1) comprising a core (2) which acts as a support beam, one or more layers (3,4) bonded to said core without the use of releasable attachment means and one or the layer being an outer slip resistant covering layer with a relief; characterised in that at least one of said layers (3) is relatively soft compared to said core which is relatively hard; whereby the core acts as a support beam and said at least one layer has a cushioning effect.
Abstract:
A floor installation system includes a hole making device for drilling holes in a solid wood strip. The hole making device comprises a linear guide assembly including at least one guiding rod, a first drill motor slidably mounted on the guiding rod of the linear guide assembly, a first fixed wood guiding sidewall non-movably mounted to the linear guide assembly and a second wood guiding sidewall mounted to the linear guide assembly. The first drill motor is provided with a first drill chuck driven by the first drill motor for drilling a hole in the solid wood strip. The first and second wood guiding sidewalls define a wood guiding channel therebetween for supporting the solid wood strip. The hole making further comprises an actuator motor provided for selectively moving the first drill motor along the guiding rod to and away from the wood guiding channel.
Abstract:
The invention comprises, on the one hand, a fastening system for assembling a series of hardwood floor member and, on the other hand, to a hole making apparatus for creating proper apertures in hardwood flooring members. The fastening system utilizes interlocking fasteners that pass laterally through each board at set intervals, whereby a floating flooring system is created regardless of the substrate forming the flooring area. The hole making apparatus forms lateral bores at regular intervals in each board so that the fastening system can be applied to conventional hardwood pieces.
