The present invention is directed to providing method and apparatus for implementing a uniform platform for data/voice service. An apparatus for implementing a uniform platform for data/voice service provided in the present invention comprises a base station controller and a Multi-BSSFast Packet Server, characterized in that said base station controller and Multi-BSSFast Packet Server are integrated into one rack, and the base station controller is connected to the Multi-BSSFast Packet Server via a link based on E1 over Ethernet (E1oE). With the technical solutions of data/voice uniform platform based on E1oE technique, network units can be smoothly transitioned from an independent network mode to a combined network mode so that the conventional technical solution that BSC can only implement Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) transmission in the system has been broken, which cause structure of the system opener and more compatible, but a separated network mode is smoothly transitioned to a combined network mode in which a rack and external E1 lines are shared between BSC and PCU as well. Meanwhile, expensive cost for using existing physical E1 lines is saved for a user and thus the cost will be decreased.

A base station system and method for call setting up, handing over and releasing in hybrid network are disclosed. The base station system consists of BSC, TC, several BTSs and a band-width guaranteed IP network. IP mode transport and traditional TDM mode transport between BSC and TC are simultaneity supported in the system, and BTS supports TDM mode or IP mode. The invention provides: compatibility with TDM, which protects the providers' investment; smooth transition from TOM to IP, which decreases investing risk; flexible choice for different physical layer or data link layer transmission apparatuses to bear IP message, which facilitates the providers to constitute their networks. In IP mode, data service can share bandwidth with the mute frames of voice service, the system can coexist with different IP networks, and the control user planes are independent so as to simplify the developing procedure and reduce the maintaining cost.

The gNB may be configured with logical nodes including a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU 106 may determine a first precoding matrix and a second precoding matrix for a precoding of one or more data streams for transmission on a plurality of antennas coupled to the gNB-DU. The precoding may be in accordance with a split functionality between the gNB-CU and the gNB-DU that includes: precoding by the gNB-CU with the first precoding matrix, and precoding by the gNB-DU with the second precoding matrix.
