Abstract:
The present invention describes a solar panel system tracker that closely approximates the output levels of an actively tracked system but at significantly reduced levels of complexity and cost. The present invention is comprised of a clock that generates a five degree step function which moves the solar panel system in five degree increments over the period of the solar day. This provides approximately thirty-five separate adjustments throughout the day, yielding an aggregate output performance of approximately 90 percent compared to a fully tracked system.
Abstract:
A system that avoids any stopping or reversing of the web direction in a continuous feed printer, instead maintaining consistent process speed, only requiring a slowing and speeding up of the web to cycle through the PR belt seam. This is done by forming a web loop and then immediately flattening the loop after passage of the seam through the transfer zone that includes two transfer BTR rolls with alternating transfer operations, but simultaneous transfer for short periods. Two vacuum assist rolls, one located between the two bias transfer rolls controls the formation of the web loop. A pair of nip forming rolls upstream of the first transfer station and a second vacuum assist roll downstream of the second transfer station control the size of the loop.

Abstract:
The present invention describes a portable sprinkler riser mechanism that offers the location and stability of the stake type riser mechanisms, yet also provides the ease of placement and flexibility of the surface type riser mechanisms. This is accomplished through the use of a weighted impact hammer co-located with the riser.
Abstract:
Mass storage system controller apparatus receives requests for access to files in a data storage system and manages access to the files in the data storage system, the data storage system having a plurality of storage devices and the requests being addressed to the data storage system as a single virtual storage device having addressable Command Regions allocated to controller commands and addressable Mapped Data Regions allocated for data storage. The apparatus includes a file system to manage access to files in the data storage system, the file system having a processor acting as a Command Region processor and acting as a Mapped Data Region processor. A disk emulator responds as a disk drive device to write/read commands and passes the write/read commands addressed to Command Regions of the virtual storage device to the Command Region processor, the write/read commands addressed to Command Regions containing controller commands for the file system. The Command Region processor responds to controller commands in the write/read commands and processes the controller commands to control files in the data storage system. The disk emulator responds as a disk drive device to write/read commands and passes write/read commands addressed to a Mapped Data Region of the virtual storage device to the Mapped Data Region processor. The Mapped Data Region processor responds to a write/read command with a Mapped Data Region address and transfers data to or from the data storage system for files mapped to the Mapped Data Region address.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present disclosure, there is provided a printing system. The printing system comprises a sheet feeding apparatus for feeding cut sheets in timed relationship into a sheet processor having a pitch. The sheet feeding apparatus includes a fixed take away roller, a first transport roller, and a second transport roller. The take away roller removes individual sheets from a feeder. A fixed length sheetpath exists between the take away roller, the first transport roller, and the second transport roller. The take away roller and/or optionally the first transport roller have a variable speed capability to vary the velocity thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention describes an apparatus and teaches a method for removing particulate matter from a plurality of vessels. Examples of these vessels include aquariums, spas, fountains and pools. An ordinary hand held power drill motor is connected via a drill motor pump to a pick-up head containing a pair of hoses. Upon activation, a first hose applies suction to the pick-up head drawing both water and particulate into a chamber. The water continues through to a pump mounted in a housing, through the pump and out the discharge hose while the particulate is trapped within the chamber by a filter for later removal.
Abstract:
This invention comprises an apparatus and method for generating sample ions from sample molecules in which a mixture of a sample and a matrix are vaporized by a laser beam and Subsequently ionized by reagent corona ions. The decoupling of the vaporization and ionization steps allows each process to be separately optimized. The vaporization step can be done in a sub-atmospheric pressure region. Alternatively, the vaporization and ionization steps can be done in a higher pressure region. In addition, the reagent corona ions can be generated in a vacuum chamber or a chamber at atmospheric pressure. Alternatively, the reagent ions can be generated in a sub-atmospheric region while the laser desorption occurs in an atmospheric region.
Abstract:
New and useful products are based on sheeted cellulose impregnated with a polyfunctional isocyanate and a fire retardant material. The fire retardants are chosen from organophosphorous esters compatible with the isocyanate in the proportions used. Preferred impregnating compositions use about one part of isocyanate and two parts of a halogenated diphosphate ester. Other compatible phosphorous based materials may be included for viscosity control.
Abstract:
A Transparent Peripheral File System (TPFS) includes a Peripheral File System Adapter (PFSA) which communicates with a host operating system at the vnode level of file operation by packaging such communications for transmission over an I/O system interface, such as SCSI. A file peripheral system remote from the host and in a peripheral relation thereto is responsive to the PFSA, without an intervening file server. The peripheral file system produces hardware commands for the mass storage device whose space it manages. The peripheral file system may be embedded in a mass storage device, a lump in the interconnecting interface cable, or a smart interface card in the backplane of the host. The peripheral file system may include a daisy chain connection to allow the propagation of vnode communication to other peripheral file systems. In this way a hierarchy of peripheral file systems may be physically mounted to one another in a way that corresponds to how they are logically mounted. A Character To File Translator (CFX) allows a TPFS to emulate raw mode access, even if the host system is not equipped with a vnode file operation interface. CFX does this by converting to and from streams of characters communicated with an application using this ersatz raw mode, while instead of storing the data on the storage medium itself, actually relying upon the remote peripheral file system for storing, or having stored, the streams of characters as a file.
