Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of cancer progression. The invention provides in vivo methods for preventing or inhibiting the migration of cancer cells away from the site of a tumour or a resected tumour, thus inhibiting invasion and metastasis, by contacting all or part of the tumour or resected tumour, or all or part of the vicinity of the tumour, with an agent which impedes the migration and/or proliferation of cancer cells, such as a cross-linking agent.
