Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member and a charge roller. The photosensitive member comprises a base body, and a photosensitive layer which is a monolayer formed on the base body and comprises a charge generating agent, a charge transport agent and a binder resin. The charge roller configured to contact the photosensitive member and charge the photosensitive member by application of only a DC voltage. The charge roller comprises a conductive rubber layer, and a ten-point average roughness of a surface of the charge roller is 0.9 μm or more and 8.5 μm or less.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, an intermediate transfer belt, first, second, and third power sources, and a control unit. During print job execution, the control unit controls the third power source such that a discharge current supplied to the intermediate transfer belt is constant current controlled based on first and second power source current supply detection results. When changing from a first to a second discharge current, the control unit controls the third power source such that, after a first image forming region passes through a primary transfer portion, an intermediate transfer belt trailing edge to which the first discharge current is supplied initially passes through the primary transfer portion and such that, before a second image forming region passes through the primary transfer portion, an intermediate transfer belt leading edge to which the second discharge current is supplied initially passes through the primary transfer portion.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a charging member, an image forming portion, a notifying member, a cleaning member, a detecting member, an acquiring portion, and a controller. The charging member is disposed to be in contact with the image bearing member, and charges the image bearing member. The image forming portion forms a developer image. The notifying member notifies of information relevant to a lifetime of the charging member. The cleaning member is in contact with the image bearing member, and removes the developer on the image bearing member. The detecting member detects driving torque of the image bearing member. The acquiring portion acquires specification information relevant to a specification of the cleaning member. The controller controls the notifying member to notify of the lifetime of the charging member based on the specification information acquired by the acquiring portion and information corresponding to the driving torque of the image bearing member detected by the detecting member and the number of image formed sheets.
