摘要： An electrophotographic photosensitive drum for a process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, wherein the process cartridge includes a charging roller for electrically charging the photosensitive drum and a developing roller for developing a latent image formed on the drum, the drum includes a drum helical gear, mounted to one end of the cylinder, for transmiting a rotational driving force to a transfer roller provided in a main assembly for transmiting a rotational driving force to the charging roller and the developing roller, wherein a shaft portion provided at a central portion of the drum helical gear at a position where it is completely overlapped with a teeth of the drum helical gear with respect to a longitudinal direction of the cylinder, wherein a gap is provided between the teeth and a peripheral surface of the shaft portion; a projection, provided at a free end of the shaft portion, for engagement with a hole formed in the main assembly to receive a driving force from the main assembly when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; the drum, when it is mounted to a cartridge frame of the cartridge, permits insertion of the cartridge frame to enter the gap so that shaft portion is rotatably supported in the cartridge frame.

摘要： Conventionally, an electrophotography image forming apparatus by means of an electrophotography image forming process has a process cartridge which integrates the electrophotography photosensitive body and process means into a cartridge which can be detachably mounted on the image forming apparatus. In order to obtain a fine image in that kind of image forming apparatus, it is necessary that the process cartridge is mounted accurately at a predetermined position in the image forming apparatus and interface portions of various electrical contacts and driving transmission part are accurately connected. For improvement, process cartridges having well mountability are provided.

摘要： A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic apparatus, said cartridge includes a photosensitive drum; process means; a first contact portion provided on a bottom surface of a cartridge frame provided at one longitudinal end, the first portion being guided by a first assembly side guide when the cartridge is mounted, wherein the first portion is disposed at a leading portion with respect to a cartridge mounting direction, and the first portion is mounted to a first assembly side receiving portion when the cartridge is mounted; a cartridge coupling disposed above the first portion, the coupling being engageable with a assembly side coupling to receive a rotational force from the assembly; a second contact portion provided on a bottom surface of a cartridge frame provided at one longitudinal end of the photosensitive drum, the second portion being disposed behind the first portion with respect to the mounting direction, wherein the second portion is effective to limit rotation of the cartridge in a rotational direction of the drum; a positioning portion projected outwardly from a cartridge frame provided at the other longitudinal end of the drum, the positioning portion being guided by a second assembly side guide, and being positioned to a second assembly side receiving portion.

摘要： A part according to the invention is designed so that a plurality of parts each identical to the part are arranged in the same attitude in parallel with a part moving direction on a guide (40), and includes projections (10f5, 10f6) for pushing abutment surface (10f7) provided on a preceding part placed on the guide, while maintaining the attitude of the preceding part, and an abutment surface (10f7) to be pushed by projections (10f5, 10f6) provided on a succeeding part placed on the guide. The projections and the abutment surface are provided in an area of the part, which area is selected to avoid an area required to have dimensional precision. Accordingly, it is possible to supply the part to an assembly process without causing damage to the area required to have dimensional precision.
