Abstract: Power consumption due to failed automatic calibration is suppressed. An electronic watch is provided with a magnetic sensor, a processor for performing calibration of the magnetic sensor and controlling two or more function modes, and an acceleration sensor for sensing movement of a user. The processor determines whether a state of movement sensed by the acceleration sensor is a calibratable state in which calibration of the magnetic sensor can be performed, performs discrimination of a function mode being executed among the two or more function modes, and performs the calibration of the magnetic sensor when (i) the state of movement sensed by the acceleration sensor is the calibratable state and (ii) the function mode is not a non-default mode, the non-default mode being a function mode executed in accordance with an operation by the user.

Abstract: A hand driving device includes first to third stepping motors, a driving circuit, a magnetic sensor, and at least one processor. The first to third stepping motors move hands. The driving circuit drives the first to third stepping motors. The processor controls a magnetic sensor, based on movement of the first to third stepping motors, determines whether or not the driving circuit has rotated the stepping motors while the magnetic sensor does not perform measurement, and, when determining that the motors have not rotated, makes the magnetic sensor start measurement.

Abstract: A warning notification device includes a sensor, a notification unit, and a processor. The processor is configured to calculate a water depth from an output of the sensor every predetermined time and to calculate a surfacing amount from a change in the calculated water depth every predetermined time. When a long-term surfacing speed condition, which is to be determined on the basis of the surfacing amounts of a first number, is satisfied or when a short-term surfacing speed condition, which is to be determined on the basis of the recent surfacing amounts of a second number smaller than the first number, is satisfied, the processor enables the notification unit to issue a warning of a surfacing operation.

Abstract: In the case where a ticking timing of a clock unit changes, a CPU of an electronic timepiece outputs a synchronization request signal to a CPU of a display module at the next ticking timing after the change so as to request resynchronization. Each time a timer circuit counts a prescribed number of pulses in a clock signal generated by a clock generation circuit on the basis of the ticking timing, the CPU of the display module instructs a liquid crystal driver circuit to invert the polarity of an AC voltage to be applied to a liquid crystal panel. Moreover, upon receiving the synchronization request signal from the CPU of the electronic timepiece, the CPU of the display module sets the timer circuit to start a new count of the clock.
