Abstract:
Methods and systems for dip constrained non-linear tomography in seismic data. An additional term, comprising the dip associated with the kinematic migration of locally coherent events, is introduced into the cost function. The velocity is then updated to match the expected dip of the re-migrated offset-dependent events. Volumetric dip information can be automatically selected at a greater density in shallow locations, therefor complementing the lower density of the RMO events associated with shallow locations.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for processing seismic data are presented. Primary wave (P) seismic data (PP data) and shear wave (P) seismic data (PS data) are jointly inverted as part of a nonlinear tomography process which adheres to one or more co-depthing constraints.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for processing seismic data for improving an image of a surveyed subsurface. The method includes receiving seismic data associated with the surveyed subsurface; applying a multi-layer non-linear slope tomography algorithm to iteratively calculate a new boundary of a first layer of the surveyed subsurface and to calculate a velocity attribute of a second layer of the surveyed subsurface; and generating an improved image of the surveyed subsurface based on the new boundary of the first layer and the velocity attribute of the second layer.
