Abstract: A reactor system includes a ketopyrolysis zone in which a metal oxide catalyst reacts with a lipid feedstock to produce a renewable fuel intermediate composition. The renewable fuel intermediate composition includes a jet fuel fraction in which a non-aromatic cyclic hydrocarbon content exceeds an acyclic isoalkane content. The renewable fuel intermediate composition is hydrotreated to produce a fuel composition that includes a jet fuel component with a freezing point less than −15° C.

Abstract: A method for making a propylene oligomer having a high vinylidene content and a high degree of structural regularity and the propylene oligomer made therefrom. The method of making the propylene oligomer comprises contacting an unbridged metallocene complex with a propylene composition in the presence of a modified methyl aluminum oxide activator compound under suitable oligomerization conditions. The use of the combination of a modified methyl aluminum oxide activator compound with an unbridged metallocene complex has been found to provide increased vinylidene group content and reduced hydrogenated propylene oligomer content.

Abstract: A process is provided for producing reduced acid lignocellulosic-derived bio-oil. treating a lignocellulosic biomass feedstock in a moving bed reactor with a metal oxide catalyst on an oxide support under treating conditions to produce a treated stream; directing spent metal oxide catalyst from the moving bed reactor to a fluidized bed regenerator, the spent metal oxide catalyst resulting from treating the lignocellulosic biomass feedstock with the metal oxide catalyst; regenerating the spent metal oxide catalyst in the fluidized bed regenerator by removing coke from the spent metal oxide catalyst in a combustion process that regenerates the spent metal oxide catalyst into the metal oxide catalyst; and returning to the moving bed reactor the metal oxide catalyst that has been regenerated in the fluidized bed regenerator. The obtained bio-oil is particularly suitable as a renewable feedstock for hydroprocessing in biofuel manufacture.
