Abstract: A door stop for a laterally movable door which is hung on a building wall includes a bracket mounted near the forward edge of the door on the surface toward the wall and a slide member which is horizontally slideable in the bracket and has an offset stop bar at its front end and ears at its rear end. As the door nears closed position the stop bar engages one door jamb, and the door continues to move until the bracket abuts the stop bar. The door is stopped in open position when the stop bar is engaged with the other door jamb and the bracket abuts the ears. A latch strike on the first jamb engages the stop bar to ''''snug'''' the door against the wall, and to permit the door to be locked shut.
