Abstract:
In an example embodiment, an apparatus comprising a transceiver configured to send and receive data and logic coupled to the transceiver. The logic is configured to determine from a signal received by the transceiver whether an associated device sending the signal supports a protocol for advertising available services. The logic is configured to send a request for available services from the associated device via the transceiver responsive to determining the associated device supports the protocol. The logic is configured to receive a response to the request via the transceiver, the response comprising at least one service advertisement and a signature. The logic is configured to validate the response by confirming the signature.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving at a network device, a search key from a global search initiated at a mobile device, the network device in communication with the mobile device via a proxy operable to retrieve the search key from a packet transmitted from the mobile device, performing a search at the network device for local content associated with the search key, and transmitting the local content from the network device for display on the mobile device. An apparatus and logic are also disclosed herein.

Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving at a network device, a request from a mobile device to connect to a wireless local area network, inserting mobile device and network attributes into the request, transmitting the request from the network device to an authentication proxy comprising a policy filter, and receiving a response to the request and offloading mobile data to the wireless local area network if the request is allowed. The policy filter is configured to filter requests received at the authentication proxy based on the attributes and a network policy for offloading mobile data to the wireless local area network. An apparatus and logic are also disclosed herein.

Abstract:
Various implementations disclosed herein include apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing virtual/virtualized network functions. In some implementations, a method includes determining that a first virtual router is configured to operate as a backup router for a second virtual router. The first virtual router and the second virtual router may reside within a public cloud. The method also includes determining, by the first virtual router, whether the second virtual router is able to route packets. The method further includes updating, by the first virtual router, a routing table to indicate that the first virtual router should be used to route packets when the second virtual router is unable to route packets.
