Abstract: Several embodiments include a cooking appliance/instrument (e.g., oven). The cooking appliance/instrument can include a cooking chamber, a support tray adapted to hold food in the cooking chamber; and a heating system comprised of at least a heating element. The heating system is adapted to emit waves according to a particular configuration such that the emitted waves is substantially transparent or substantially opaque to the support tray and thus enabling the cooking instrument to select what to heat.

Abstract: In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for a virtualization environment adapted for development and deployment of at least one software workload, the virtualization environment having a metamodel framework that allows the association of a policy to the software workload upon development of the workload that is applied upon deployment of the software workload. This allows a developer to define a security zone and to apply at least one type of security policy with respect to the security zone including the type of security zone policy in the metamodel framework such that the type of security zone policy can be associated with the software workload upon development of the software workload, and if the type of security zone policy is associated with the software workload, automatically applying the security policy to the software workload when the software workload is deployed within the security zone.

Abstract: A method for controlling an output of an energy module of a modular energy system is disclosed. The modular energy system includes a header module, the energy module, and a secondary module communicably coupled together. The energy module configured to provide an output driving an energy modality deliverable by a surgical instrument connected thereto. The method includes causing the energy module to provide the output driving the energy modality delivered by the surgical instrument; sensing a parameter associated with the secondary module; receiving the parameter as sensed by the secondary module at the energy module; and adjusting the output of the energy module from a first state to a second state according to the received parameter.

Abstract: An architecture to perform resource management among multiple network nodes and associated resources is disclosed. Example resource management techniques include those relating to: proactive reservation of edge computing resources; deadline-driven resource allocation; speculative edge QoS pre-allocation; and automatic QoS migration across edge computing nodes. In a specific example, a technique for service migration includes: identifying a service operated with computing resources in an edge computing system, involving computing capabilities for a connected edge device with an identified service level; identifying a mobility condition for the service, based on a change in network connectivity with the connected edge device; and performing a migration of the service to another edge computing system based on the identified mobility condition, to enable the service to be continued at the second edge computing apparatus to provide computing capabilities for the connected edge device with the identified service level.

Abstract: A non-transitory storage medium featuring logic to obtain construct metadata and network data spanning multiple cloud networks includes a path determination logic, upon execution by one or more processors, configured to perform operations including: generate a topology mapping including a plurality of constructs and connections between the plurality of constructs extending across a multi-cloud network including a first cloud network and a second cloud network different than the first cloud network; receive user input corresponding to a selection of a source construct operating in the first cloud network and a destination construct operating in the second cloud network; analyze metadata and network data regarding the source construct and the destination construct to determine a data transmission path between the source and destination constructs; and determine a shortest path between the source construct and the destination constructs. An interface generation logic generates a visualization illustrating the data transmission path extending between the source construct and the destination construct.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes by a client system associated with a user, receiving, at the client system, a user input from the user, parsing, by the client system, the first user input to identify a request to execute a function to be performed by an assistant system of several assistant systems associated with the client system, determining whether the user is authorized to access the assistant system by comparing a voiceprint of the user to several voiceprints stored on the client system, sending, from the client system to the assistant system in response to determining the user is authorized to access the assistant system, a request to set an assistant xbot of the assistant system into a listening mode, and receiving, at the client system from the assistant system, an indication that the assistant xbot is in listening mode.

Abstract: A controller for operating building equipment of a building including processors and non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by the processors, cause the processors to perform operations including obtaining a first setpoint trajectory from a cloud computation system. The first setpoint trajectory includes setpoints for the building equipment or for a space of the building. The setpoints correspond to time steps of an optimization period. The operations include determining whether a connection between the controller and the cloud computation system is active or inactive at a time step of the optimization period and determining an active setpoint for the time step of the optimization period using either the first or second setpoint trajectory based on whether the connection between the controller and the cloud computation system is active or inactive at the time step. The operations include operating the building equipment based on the active setpoint.
