Abstract: Provided are a secondary battery and a preparation method thereof, and an electric device. The secondary battery includes a negative electrode plate and an electrolyte. The negative electrode plate includes a negative active material and a lithium supplement agent, and an insulating material is dissolved in the electrolyte. A mass ratio of the insulating material in the electrolyte ranges from 0.1% to 4%. The insulating material is derived from the negative electrode plate prior to injection the electrolyte, and the insulating material is arranged between the negative active material and the lithium supplement agent in the negative electrode plate prior to the injection the electrolyte.
