Abstract: Reusable composite comprising a chelating agent chemically coupled to an essentially insoluble inorganic carrier by means of an intermediate silane coupling agent. The chelating agent is bonded to the silane coupling agent by means of an azo linkage. Methods of preparing and using the composite are disclosed.
