    Abstract: An end effector assembly includes a first jaw member and a second jaw member. The first and second jaw members are operably movable relative to one another between an open position and a clamped position. The first and second jaw members each include an electrically conductive plate. The electrically conductive plates of the first and second jaw members oppose each other and are configured to conduct energy through tissue clamped therebetween. The first jaw member further includes an insulative spacer having a rib and a conductive strip. The rip extends from a surface of the insulative spacer towards the electrically conductive plate. The conductive strip is integrally formed on a surface of the rib to contact the electrically conductive plate. The conductive strip is configured to transmit an electrical potential to the electrically conductive plate.

    Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a housing, an inner shaft coupled to and extending distally from the housing, an end effector assembly disposed at a distal end of the inner shaft, an outer sheath that is fixed to the housing, extends distally from the housing, and is disposed about the inner shaft, and an insulative sleeve. The insulative sleeve is positioned between the inner shaft and the outer sheath. The insulative sleeve is movable relative to the inner shaft and the outer sheath between a storage position, wherein the insulative sleeve is positioned proximally of the end effector assembly, and a deployed position, wherein the insulative sleeve substantially surrounds the end effector assembly.

    Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a housing, an energizable member, a powered deployment assembly, and a cable assembly. The energizable member is configured to supply electrosurgical energy to tissue, and is movable between a storage position and a deployed position. The powered deployment assembly is configured to selectively move the energizable member between the storage position and the deployed position. The cable assembly having a cable coupled to the housing at a first end and having a plug coupled to the cable at a second, opposite end. The cable housing one or more first wires for selectively providing electrosurgical energy to the energizable member and one or more second wires for selectively providing power to the powered deployment assembly. The plug is configured to house a battery therein for powering the powered deployment assembly via the one or more second wires.
