An optical unit according to one aspect of the present invention includes a substrate, and a fluorescent layer provided on the substrate. The fluorescent layer includes an adhered portion adhered to the substrate and a non-adhered portion that is not adhered to the substrate. The substrate has a concave portion containing an air gap and an adhesive. The adhered portion is part in the fluorescent layer corresponding to a region where the adhesive is provided. An end of the fluorescent layer is located outside the concave portion.

A probe capable of reducing positional displacement of an acoustic lens from a capacitive transducer is provided. The probe includes a transducer having elements and extraction electrodes of the elements, flexible wiring boards having wiring electrically connected to the extraction electrodes, and an acoustic lens having stepped portions which is provided on the elements. The acoustic lens is butted against end portions of the flexible wiring boards at the stepped portions and fixed.

Provided are a highly reliable probe including a light reflecting layer, which is resistant to the falling off of the light reflecting layer, and an information obtaining apparatus using the same. The probe includes: an element including at least one cell, each cell including a first electrode provided on a substrate, and a vibration membrane including a second electrode provided across a gap from the first electrode; an acoustic impedance matching layer disposed above the element; and a light reflecting layer. The light reflecting layer is fixed to the substrate via an adhesive layer.

A transducer includes a plurality of elements each including at least one cell structured in such a way that a diaphragm including one of a first electrode and a second electrode disposed facing each other via a space is vibratably supported, bias wiring for supplying a bias voltage to the first electrode to provide a potential difference between the first and the second electrodes, and for electrically connecting the first electrodes of the elements to each other, and signal wiring lines each connected to a different one of the elements. The bias wiring includes a plurality of branch wiring lines to each of which the first electrodes of a part of the elements are connected, a plurality of first common wiring lines for connecting the branch wiring lines to each other, and a second common wiring line for connecting the first common wiring lines to each other.

A probe is provided that can suppress the warp of an optical reflection member on a receiving surface and stably receive photoacoustic waves. The probe includes: an element having at least one cell in which a vibration film containing one electrode out of two electrodes that are provided so as to interpose a space therebetween is supported in a manner allowed to vibrate owing to the acoustic wave; an optical reflection layer 108 that is provided closer to the object than the element is; a support layer 104 supporting the optical reflection layer 108; and a warp suppressing layer 106 that is provided on at least one of the both surfaces of the support layer 104.
