摘要： The preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a method and apparatus for copying images from a source document to a destination document in a computer user interface. The preferred embodiment provides a user interface that gives the user the option to cut or copy information from an image and extract the textual information from the copied image in one cut and paste. The extracted text can then be pasted into the destination document as text. Thus, textual information from an image can easily and automatically be copied into text portions of the destination document. Alternatively, the image with the text removed can be copied into the destination in one cut and paste operation.

摘要： Embodiments of the invention provide debugging techniques for multithreaded programs. For example, a debugger may reduce the time required to release inactive threads that hold resources needed by an active thread. For example, if a timer expires before a line of code finishes executing, the debugger assumes that the active thread requires a resource locked by an inactive thread and releases other threads. During subsequent execution of the line of code, the debugger reduces the timer length of the timer. In doing so, inactive threads are released sooner, thereby reducing the wait time a user experiences when debugging lines of code.

摘要： A method and system for organizing bookmarks. A bookmark structure includes a main bookmark list and at least one bookmark folder. A bookmark search list, which includes at least one bookmark in the bookmark structure, is generated. Software is executed, wherein the software searches each bookmark on the bookmark search list through depth N (N≧0). The searching determines whether the bookmark satisfies an upgrade condition. The upgrade condition includes a boolean text expression and may also include at least one of: a client visitation condition, a general visitation condition, a bookmark existence condition, a content-type condition, a URL-age condition, and a Top-Level-Domain (TLD) condition. If the searching determines that the bookmark satisfies the upgrade condition and that the bookmark is not in the special bookmark location, then the bookmark is moved to the special bookmark location.

A determination is made as to whether a Caps Lock key of a computer keyboard is in an error state, based on ascertaining whether a first condition has been satisfied. If it is so determined that the Caps Lock key is in an error state, then a signal is generated to communicate to a user at the computer keyboard that the Caps Lock key is in the error state. The signal may be a visual signal, an audible signal, a tactile signal, an auditory signal, or a combination thereof. Satisfaction of a second condition may be used to disable the signal.

摘要： A method, apparatus and program product are provided for servicing a production program. A mirror program is dynamically created using source code associated with the production program. The mirror program includes enhanced serviceability functionally relative to the production program that generates service information relevant to the production program. The mirror program executes while the production program remains in an active state such that the production program may be serviced using service information generated by the mirror program. The source code used to compile the production program is compared to a base line copy of the source code. Portions of the source code that differ from the base line copy of the source code are stored. The stored portions of the source code are associated with a unique identifier which is saved with the compiled production program.

摘要： A data processing system and method of invoking a function within a data processing system are disclosed. The data processing system includes a processing unit, a display device that displays graphical objects in response to receipt of signals from the processing unit, a memory coupled to the processing unit, and a graphical user interface (GUI) manager stored within the memory and executable by the processing unit. In accordance with the method of the present invention, first and second graphical objects are displayed within the display device. The second graphical object includes a plurality of regions that each have an associated function. In response to a selection of the first graphical object, a determination is made whether the first graphical object is within a selected proximity of the second graphical object. If so, a particular region among the plurality of regions of the second graphical object, which would be selected in the event of a deselection of the first graphical object, is graphically indicated. In response to a deselection of the first graphical object while the first graphical object is within the selected proximity of the second graphical object, the function associated with the particular region is performed. In one embodiment of the present invention, the graphical indication of the particular region of the second graphical object comprises a drag pointer that extends between the first graphical object and the particular region. In this embodiment, a textual indication of the action associated with the particular region is also displayed.
