摘要: There is provided a method for use with a printing machine having a movable imaging member and a projecting system for modulating a beam and projecting an image into the movable imaging member. The printing machine further includes a developer for application of developer material to the image projected onto the movable imaging member for transfer of the image to a print media sheet. The method, which is intended for use in controlling exposure of a test patch on the movable imaging member includes the steps of: a) providing a time-keeping device with the time-keeping device including a variable value which is either incrementable or decrementable; b) detecting a signal indicating that the movable imaging member is positioned relative to the beam in a selected orientation, wherein the movable imaging member passes by the beam at a selected speed; c) providing a reference value with the reference value varying as a function of the selected speed; d) in response to the detecting of (b), modulating the beam, relative to the movable imaging member, so as to expose a portion for the test patch; e) concurrent with the modulating of (d), incrementing or decrementing the variable value of the time keeping device; and f) repeating said modulating of (d) until the value of the variable value is about equal to the reference value and the test patch is exposed.

摘要: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive control system for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will shut down the system in the event there is a break in the fanfold material during a reproduction run or the end of the document has been attained during normal operation. Sensing devices are utilized in the path of movement of the document and a circuit is provided to produce a train of pulses in accordance with the movement of the document. The frequency of the train of pulses is compared with a reference frequency to insure proper operation.

摘要: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive control system for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will control operation of the tractor and drive control system, and use is made of a stepper motor having many, small angled rotational movements which can be digitally controlled. A logic circuit arrangement is provided to energize and control the motor so that precise positioning of an edge of each frame section of the fanfold document can be made relative to a platen registration edge. In addition, the logic circuit is adapted to effect acceleration and deceleration of the motor in a controlled sense.

摘要: An image data transfer architecture in which control data and image data are isolated is provided. Bidirectional buffers isolate data buses from the control bus, thereby allowing control to be maintained by an 8-bit programmed microprocessor. The controller microprocessor does not handle image data thereby reducing complex software and support components required of prior multiple 16- and 32-bit microprocessor controller systems. Isolation is achieved by having multiple data buses handling image data at various stages of processing, such as, for example, input image data, compressed image data and output image data. Additional efficiencies are realized by eliminating the inherent delays caused when high speed image output terminals are forced to share data buses with much lower speed image input terminals.

An arrangement is provided which will control operation of the processor and the automatic handling apparatus in order to acquire duplex copies of the simplex document. 摘要: The present invention generally relates to an imaging system, and more specifically, a method and apparatus for accurately predicting toner usage and hence toner dispensing requirements in an imaging system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a feed forward toner concentration control system and method for replacing toner in each developer structure, which was used to develop a latent image on a photoreceptor belt, in order to maintain toner concentration in at least one developer structure. First and second pixel counts for first and second toner in each sector are received. The first toner mass is estimated based on first pixel counts. The second toner mass is estimated based on second pixel counts. Feed forward dispense commands are generated based on first toner mass estimate and second toner mass estimate to dispense each toner into each corresponding developer structure to replace toner used to develop the latent image on the photoreceptor in order to maintain toner concentration in each developer structure.
