    摘要: An apparatus for cleaning a disposal chute in a building, the chute having a chute wall, includes a crane and cable assembly; a cleaning fluid spraying assembly suspended from the crane and cable assembly for lowering and raising within the chute; a flexible fluid delivery line suspended from the spraying assembly; and a fluid pump assembly connected to the flexible fluid delivery line. The spraying assembly preferably additionally includes a guide cage having resilient and outwardly bowed vertical support ribs interconnected by lateral support hoops extending substantially parallel to the mounting plate. The apparatus preferably additionally includes at least one cage wheel having an axial wheel port and being rotatably mounted on at least one support hoop for rolling against the chute wall as the spraying assembly is raised and lowered within the chute. A method is provided of cleaning a building disposal chute with the above described apparatus including the steps of securing a cleaning fluid spray head from a cable; lowering and raising the spray head from a crane assembly within a disposal chute; and delivering cleaning fluid to the spray head from the spray head lower end through a fluid line extending downwardly within the chute to a fluid pump assembly.

    摘要: This loudspeaker system overcomes the disadvantages of prior art bipolar loudspeaker systems in which the front and rear-mounted driver(s) are connected with the same electrical phase. It compensates for the undesirable cancellation and reinforcement effects of prior art in bipolar loudspeaker design caused by the interaction of the front and rear acoustical output of the two drivers over certain frequency ranges. The introduction of a third side-mounted driver(s) to an enclosure whose depth exceeds its width when viewed from the front compensates for the usual cancellations and reinforcements of acoustic level that would normally occur in previous bipolar loudspeaker designs. This loudspeaker uses electronic, electrical and acoustical frequency-dividing networks to allow compensation of the acoustic level and the interaction of the front, rear and side-mounted driver(s) in such a way as to provide a nearly constant acoustic level over the entire operating range of the loudspeaker. The arrangement of the three drivers and their associated electronic, electrical and acoustical frequency-dividing networks allows the attainment of a loudspeaker with a bipolar radiating characteristic that does not possess the previously unavoidable peaks and dips in acoustical output caused by reinforcement and cancellation of the acoustic outputs from the front and rear-mounted driver(s). In this loudspeaker, the low-frequency range is covered by the side-mounted driver(s) and the upper frequency range is covered by the front and rear-mounted driver(s).

    摘要: A paging system in which a large number of paging amplifiers may be connected to a pair of signal and power carrying wires having insufficient capacity to carry operating power for the amplifiers. Each of the amplifiers has a local chargeable battery connected to receive charging current from the pair of wires and for operating the associated paging amplifier. Charging power is applied to the pair of wires for charging the batteries during intervals when no paging signal is being carried by the wires. The presence or absence of charging power is detected and the paging amplifiers disabled or enabled respectively in response.

    摘要: A speaker system, particularly useful as a subwoofer, comprises an enclosure with one acoustic transducer facing to the right and one acoustic transducer facing to the left, which effectively cancels out transducer cone mass induced vibration within the enclosure. The enclosure also has one passive radiator facing up and one passive radiator facing down. The passive radiator facing down effectively couples acoustic energy at very low frequencies into the floor. The passive radiators each have a rather a large area and high mass. The large, high mass, bottom mounted passive radiator will produce large amounts of enclosure vibration, and so to cancel this vibration, the upper passive radiator is of substantially the same mass and size. The resulting system will be vibrationally balanced on all axes while simultaneously effectively coupling low frequency energy onto the floor of the listening room with good efficiency.

    摘要: An acoustic transducer includes a frame, voice coil movable along a pole, magnetic structure generating magnetic flux in a gap where the voice coil moves, diaphragm attached to the coil, waveguide extension in front of the pole, inner flexible roll seal connecting the waveguide extension to neck area of the diaphragm, and outer seal connecting outer periphery of the diaphragm to the frame. The inner flexible roll seal seals the gap between the voice coil and the pole, isolating the air in front of the diaphragm from the air behind the diaphragm. The inner seal provides damping of unwanted resonances of the diaphragm. Together, the inner seal and the outer seal do not substantially decrease the piston area of the transducer, and do not substantially affect the transducer's movement. In combination, the inner seal and the waveguide extension tend to increase efficiency and decrease audio distortions of the transducer.

    摘要: Watertight enclosures for digital audio devices include one or more diaphragms for transmitting sound to and/or from the digital device's audio transducers, such as speakers and microphones. To mitigate standing waves and/or prominent natural frequencies, a central portion of the diaphragm is wavy with a relatively low Q (Young's modulus). The central portion is encircled by a peripheral web portion that is relatively thin to provide the central portion with spring support. In some examples, the diaphragm also includes a seal for sealing against the digital device's housing to create a generally closed air chamber between the diaphragm and the audio transducer. The closed air chamber promotes sound transfer between the diaphragm and the audio transducer. The closed air chamber can also reduce crosstalk between a microphone and a proximate speaker. In some examples, a relatively soft diaphragm and a harder enclosure are created using plastic injection overmolding.

    摘要: A loudspeaker system includes an enclosure having an open end defining a plane, a baffle, a loudspeaker operating in the 4 kHz to 10 kHz range, and a device, preferably a ribbed portion having a plurality of grooves, coupled to the baffle for modifying the spectral profile of the projected sound waves. The baffle includes first and second angled surfaces each oriented at an oblique angle with respect to the plane. The speaker is coupled to the first angled surface and the ribbed portion is coupled to the baffle along the intersection of the first angled surface and the second angled surface. When mounted in a wall or ceiling, the system projects a sound field substantially indistinguishable from that of a loudspeaker located within the listener's listening plane. The baffle can also have acoustic damping material attached thereto, with grooves formed therein, to prevent reflections of 4 kHz to 10 kHz sound.
