Abstract:
In a cleaning system for cleaning hair clippings from the interior space of an electric shaver, a shaver support is provided for supporting the electric shaver during operation of the cleaning system. A pressure vessel defines a source of cleaning gas for cleaning hair clippings from the interior of the shaver and is in fluid communication with a gas delivery assembly that receives cleaning gas from the pressure vessel. The gas delivery assembly comprises at least one nozzle assembly configured and arranged for directing cleaning gas received from the pressure vessel to flow directly into the interior space of the shaver. In one embodiment the pressure vessel is cartridge that is removeable from the cleaning system for refilling or replacement.
Abstract:
Hard-to-coat color lakes and other powders useful in cosmetics and other industries are coated with a duplex coating system comprising basic and nonbasic functionalized coating components, for example a basic functionalized aminopolysiloxane and a nonbasic alkoxypolysiloxane. Control of bleeding of a color lake into aqueous media is possible. A novel duplex coating system, treatment process, treated powder and cosmetic formulation containing same are disclosed.
Abstract:
Novel organosilicon-treated cosmetic powders, for example, a pigment, extender pigment or filler are free from residual hydrogen, have a smooth feel, good skin adhesion, good color and spreadability and resistance to acids and alkalis. The treated powders are useful in cosmetics such as powder formulations, oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, anhydrous make-up and lipstick. Treatment can be effected with a linear reactive alkylpolysiloxane having substituted in repeating units in the backbone of the molecule both cationic and anionic groups, for example aminoethylaminopropyl and alkoxy groups. The organosilicon compound can be adsorbed and chemically bonded to the surface of the powder by heat treatment. The alkylpolysiloxane compound can have a degree of polymerization of from 5 to 100, preferably 10-15. A process for producing the treated pigment is also disclosed as are cosmetic formulations made with the treated pigment. The inventive treatment is effective for a wide range of cosmetic powders including inorganic pigments, organic lakes and hard-to-coat powders such as mica-based powders, porous silica and the like.
Abstract:
A cup that is used for children that transitions them from sippy cups to conventional drinking cups. The cup does not require any suction by the child when drinking yet is spill proof when locked for transit. The cup features a reservoir, a top and a lid. Within the top is a central passage and a plate that contains vents. When closed, the lid is flush against the plate and prevents any liquid from leaking. When the lid is rotated open, a gap is exposed between the lid and plate to allow liquid to flow from the reservoir and through the vents to the child's mouth. Regardless of whether the lid is opened or closed, the lid always remains below the top rim of the top.
Abstract:
A generally circular-shaped bag for care and transportation of a circular hydroplane board includes: (a) a main pouch formed by a generally circular-shaped bag rear panel and a bag front panel, the front panel being generally parallel to the rear panel; and (b) a main pouch closure flap attached to an upper edge of the rear panel and foldable over the main pouch; wherein a lower portion of the bag includes apertures open to the main pouch for washing the hydroplane board off in the bag; and a first portion of the circular-shaped hydroplane board is removably insertable in the main pouch and the main pouch closure flap is reversibly foldable over a second, upper portion of the hydroplane board. Alternatively, the bag includes matching, generally circular-shaped front and rear panels with a main pouch closure mechanism at the top of the bag.
Abstract:
A circular-shaped hydroplane board with a topside device for safer, more controllable skimming along a beach surface includes: (a) a substantially planar bottom side having a first diameter; (b) a substantially planar top side having a second diameter that is larger than the first diameter; (c) a curved circular side rail connecting the bottom side to the top side of the hydroplane board; and (d) a curved topside device attached to the top side of the hydroplane board; wherein the hydroplane board has no defined front, rear, left, or right sides. Also included is the topside device itself, which is attachable to a top side of a circular hydroplane board.
Abstract:
A punch tool for use by children is disclosed. The punch tool includes a removable die and punch assembly that can be inserted and removed from a base portion to permit the punching of holes having a variety of configurations. A cap is rigidly secured to the base and has an indented portion so sheets of paper can be inserted between the base and the cap. The retainer cap includes an opening in which an actuator button is slidably mounted and against which the punch is biased by a spring. Thus, a user can slide a sheet of paper between the base and the retainer cap and punch a hole therethrough by pressing the actuator button with sufficient force to overcome the spring bias.
