The cloud point monitoring device design allows it to be made small enough to be mounted in a fuel system of a vehicle.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and process for estimating the pour point of a hydrocarbon oil. The pour point of hydrocarbon oil gives an indication of its low temperature properties, and is determined according to the time-consuming procedures set out in the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) test D-97. The present invention generally provides a convenient means to estimate the pour point of a hydrocarbon oil, by directing a flow of pressurized gas towards a sample of the oil, and determining the warmest temperature at which the gas flow does not cause a substantial surface wave on the oil surface.

    摘要: Tension monitoring is described using a sensor which may exhibit an offset for which compensation may be provided to produce a zero voltage amplified output or to increase dynamic range. An arrangement determines whether a power reset is responsive to a battery bounce such that an initially-measured system start-up parameter can be retained. The start-up parameter is automatically saved at start-up if the power reset is responsive to a start-up from a shut-down condition. The start-up parameter may be a zero tension amplified output responsive to the sensor offset at zero tension. Protection of a tension data set is provided such that no opportunity for altering the data set is presented prior to transfer of the data set. A housing configuration forms part of an electrical power circuit for providing electrical power to an electronics package from a battery.

    摘要: A fuel freezing point monitoring device to monitor the freezing point of onboard fuel, especially aircraft fuel. The fuel freezing point monitoring device is capable of monitoring the phase transition or fluidity of the fuel to determine the freezing point of the fuel. The fuel freezing point monitoring device eliminates the freezing point assumption of onboard fuel by actually measuring the freezing point of the fuel. The pilot will have knowledge of the approximate freezing point of the composite onboard fuel and will no longer need to assume a conservative fuel freezing point value. Together with the en-route fuel temperature information provided by existing aircraft sensors, the pilot will have the information to ensure a safe flight and to operate the aircraft efficiently.
