摘要: The present teaching relates to vital sign detection and monitoring based on channel state information (CSI). In one example, an apparatus for vital sign detection is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a receiver, a processor and a memory communicatively coupled with the processor. The receiver is configured for receiving at least one wireless signal from a multipath channel that can be impacted by a vital sign of at least one living being. The processor is configured for: extracting a time series of channel state information (CSI) for the multipath channel from the at least one wireless signal, obtaining one or more periodic fluctuations based on a spectral analysis of the time series of CSI, and determining whether the vital sign is present based on the one or more periodic fluctuations.

摘要: Methods, apparatus and systems for wireless monitoring for motion detection and localization are described. In one example, a described system comprises: Type 1 devices; Type 2 devices; and a processor. Each Type 2 device is configured for: asynchronously receiving, from each of a respective subset of Type 1 devices associated with the Type 2 device, a respective wireless signal through a respective wireless multipath channel impacted by a motion of an object in a venue; asynchronously receiving, from each of a subset of a respective set of at least one other Type 2 device interconnected wirelessly with the Type 2 device, a respective wireless signal through a respective wireless multipath channel impacted by the motion of the object; and obtaining a set of asynchronous time series of channel information (ATSCI), wherein each ATSCI is associated with a respective wireless multipath channel and is obtained based on the asynchronously received respective wireless signal. The processor is configured for monitoring the motion of the object based on the set of ATSCI associated with each Type 2 device.

In one example, a described apparatus is in a venue for wireless proximity monitoring. The apparatus comprises: a transmitter, a receiver, and a processor. The transmitter is configured for transmitting a wireless signal through a wireless multipath channel, wherein the wireless multipath channel is impacted by a motion of an object within a proximity of the apparatus. The receiver is configured for: receiving the wireless signal through the wireless multipath channel between the transmitter and the receiver, and obtaining a time series of channel information (TSCI) of the wireless multipath channel based on the wireless signal received by the receiver. The processor is configured for monitoring the motion of the object within the proximity of the apparatus based at least partially on the TSCI.

In one example, a described method comprises: transmitting a first wireless signal from a first wireless device with transmit antennas through a wireless multipath channel of a venue; receiving a second wireless signal by a second wireless device with receive antennas through the wireless multipath channel, wherein the second wireless signal differs from the first wireless signal due to the wireless multipath channel that is impacted by a motion of an object in the venue; obtaining a number of time series of channel information (TSCI) of the wireless multipath channel based on the second wireless signal, wherein each TSCI is associated with a respective one of the transmit antennas and a respective one of the receive antennas; preprocessing the number of TSCI; and monitoring the motion of the object based on the number of preprocessed TSCI.

In one example, a described method comprises: transmitting a first wireless signal from a first wireless device through a wireless multipath channel of a venue, the venue comprising a vehicle and an immediate vicinity of the vehicle; receiving a second wireless signal by a second wireless device in the venue through the wireless multipath channel, wherein the second wireless signal differs from the first wireless signal due to the wireless multipath channel and a modulation by an object undergoing a motion in the venue; obtaining a time series of channel information (TSCI) of the wireless multipath channel based on the second wireless signal; and performing a monitoring task by monitoring, based on the TSCI, at least one of: the vehicle, the object or the motion of the object.

摘要: The present teaching relates to collecting and processing location-specific wireless waveforms for use in wireless communication, components, methods, apparatuses, servers, and systems. In one embodiment, a disclosed system comprises a first wireless transceiver of a first device, and at least one second wireless transceiver of at least one second device. The first wireless transceiver of the first device is wirelessly coupled to the at least one second wireless transceiver through a wireless multipath channel associated with a space. The first device with the first wireless transceiver comprises a processor and a memory, which are configured to obtain a set of channel information (CI) and perform a task associated with the space based on the set of channel information. The set of channel information is captured when at least one probing signal is either (1) sent from the first wireless transceiver to a particular second wireless transceiver through the wireless multipath channel associated with the space, or (2) sent from the particular second wireless transceiver to the first wireless transceiver through the wireless multipath channel. The set of CI comprises a channel impulse response, a channel frequency response, a channel profile, and/or another channel data of the wireless multipath channel.

In one example, a described system comprises: a transmitter configured to transmit a first wireless signal through a wireless multipath channel in a venue; a receiver configured to receive a second wireless signal through the wireless multipath channel, wherein the second wireless signal differs from the first wireless signal due to the wireless multipath channel which is impacted by a sleeping motion of an object in the venue; and a processor. The processor is configured for: obtaining a time series of channel information (TSCI) of the wireless multipath channel based on the second wireless signal, wherein each channel information (CI) of the TSCI comprises N1 components, wherein N1 is a positive integer larger than one, computing N1 component-wise analytics each associated with one of the N1 components of the TSCI, identifying N2 largest component-wise analytics among the N1 component-wise analytics, wherein N2 is a positive integer less than N1 computing at least one first motion statistics based on the N2 largest component-wise analytics of the TSCI, and monitoring the sleeping motion of the object based on the at least one first motion statistics.

摘要: Methods, apparatus and systems for wireless sensing are described. In one example, a described system in a wireless data communication network comprises: a transmitter configured to transmit a time series of at least one wireless sounding signal (WSS) based on a standard wireless network protocol associated with the wireless data communication network, and a receiver. The wireless data communication network comprises a physical (PHY) layer, a medium access control (MAC) layer, and at least one higher layer. The receiver is configured to: receive the time series of at least one WSS (TSWSS) based on the standard wireless network protocol through a wireless channel of a venue, and perform a plurality of wireless sensing measurements based on the received TSWSS to obtain sensing measurement results based on the standard wireless network protocol. The PHY layer or the MAC layer of the receiver provides the sensing measurement results locally to the at least one higher layer of the receiver based on the standard wireless network protocol. The sensing measurement results are available to the at least one higher layer of the receiver for performing a sensing-based task based on the sensing measurement results.
