摘要： A process is disclosed for separating calcium and nitrogen from lithium, in which alumina is added to molten lithium and reacts to produce aluminum and lithium oxide. The aluminum reacts with the nitrogen in the lithium to produce insoluble aluminum nitride, while the lithium oxide reacts with the calcium present to produce insoluble calcium oxide and lithium. The insoluble calcium oxide and aluminum nitride may then be separated from the molten lithium, such as by filtration.

摘要： An apparatus for inhibiting accretion of airborne material on a surface of an aircraft. The apparatus comprises a film adapted to overlie at least a portion of the aircraft surface and a driver mechanism coupled to the film. The driver mechanism is operative to slideably move the film relative to the aircraft surface, such that airborne material impinging on the film detaches itself and breaks away therefrom. In a particular example of implementation, the apparatus is adapted and used for inhibiting accretion of airborne material on an airfoil leading edge.

摘要： In a system for directing the motion of a vehicle, controllers, each of which independently controls motion of the vehicle, are linked to a coupling assembly to cause the controllers to experience substantially identical motion. The coupling assembly includes one or more fluid displacers that are linked to a first vehicle controller which force fluid from a first chamber, through a conduit, into a second chamber and against one or more fluid displacers that are linked to a second vehicle controller. The coupling assembly may be used to control motion of the aircraft in multiple degrees of freedom.
