Abstract: A system and method of estimating a flow rate through a pipe using thermodynamics. The flow rates are estimated by using fluid properties, reservoir properties, pump properties, and heat transfer properties. Additionally, historical well data can be used to create a model that is used to estimate flow rate through a pipe.
