Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for water metering are disclosed. In one aspect, sensor data can be received from a flexible sensing device fitted to medium that includes a restricted area through which fluid can move over a period of time. At least one of a level of vibration of the medium or a level of audio energy from the medium in the period of time is identified. A flow rate of fluid moving through the restricted area of the medium is determined. An event at a property that receives at least a portion of the fluid moving through the restricted area of the medium is determined. A notification indicating the event at the property is generated.

Abstract: It is an object to provide a flow rate sensor device having improved sensor responsiveness compared with the prior art. The present invention is a flow rate sensor device including a sensor element that detects a flow rate; a unit body including a sensor unit in which the sensor element is mounted, and a case accommodating the unit body, wherein the sensor unit is supported away from a bottom surface of the case. In this way, the sensor unit is supported to float upward from the bottom surface of the case, and a space is provided between the sensor unit and the bottom surface. Therefore, heat caused in the sensor unit can be separated from outside, and good sensor responsiveness can be maintained.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for metering water are disclosed. In some implementations, audio energy corresponding to a flow of material in a pipe that meets a threshold audio energy is detected using a sensor of a batter-operated device connected to the pipe. One or more components of the battery-operated device are activated in response to detecting the audio energy that meets the threshold audio energy. Audio data corresponding to the flow of material in the pipe is collected using the sensor in response to detecting the audio energy that meets the threshold audio energy. The audio data is analyzed using a processing component of the batter-operated device to determine one or more events. An indication of the one or more events is transmitted to an external computing system in response to determining the one or more events.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for fluid flow measurement in a controlled agricultural environment. A digital flow sensor comprises a flow sensor element including a first digital thermometer for providing a first output and a heating element thermally coupled to the first digital thermometer. The flow sensor may also include a second digital thermometer for providing a second output, and logic for providing a flow measurement based at least in part upon the first and second outputs. A flow sensor network may include multiple digital flow sensors, where data lines of the flow sensors are all coupled to the same network bus for communicating data.

Abstract: A dispensing system for a beverage comprises in a tap system a bore for housing a duct. Along the bore, close to or on the duct, at least two electrodes are provided such that at least at some locations along the duct, the two electrodes are provided opposite to one another with the duct in between, thus constituting a capacitor. An oscillating signal is provided to one electrode and a signal is read out from the other electrode. As a beverage is drawn through the duct in a container, capacitance of the capacitor changes. The flowing beverage may have different characteristics, but capacitance may also change as the beverage in the duct is in conducting contact with a container that may be in contact with an earth contact. The change of capacitance results in a change of the amplitude of a detection circuit connected to the second electrode.
