摘要： A running board is provided for a motor vehicle. The running board includes a stepping platform having a step side and an underside each extending longitudinally between opposing end walls and laterally between an inboard wall and an outboard wall. A bracket integrally molded with the stepping platform is adapted to be secured to the vehicle. A plurality of primary reinforcing ribs extends along the underside of the stepping platform between the inboard wall and the outboard wall. A plurality of secondary reinforcing ribs extends along the underside of the stepping platform. At least one of the plurality of secondary reinforcing ribs abut at least one of the inboard and outboard walls. The plurality of primary and secondary reinforcing ribs provide support to the running board as a downward force is applied to the step side of the stepping platform.

摘要： A step assembly is provided for a bumper of a motor vehicle. The step assembly includes a mounting bracket fixedly secured to the bumper. A step is operatively coupled to the mounting bracket and is movable between a retracted position disposed adjacent the bumper and a deployed position extending away from the bumper. A pivot arm is pivotally interconnected between the mounting bracket and the step. A spring is secured between the mounting bracket and the pivot arm for biasing the pivot arm. The spring creates a tensile force. A lock arm is pivotally interconnected between the mounting bracket and the step. The lock arm defines a lock surface engaging the pivot arm while the tensile force of the spring locks the step in order to retain the step in one of the retracted and deployed positions.

摘要： A fastener is provided for attaching a first member to a second member. The fastener includes a head, a shank having a first end abutting the head and an opposing second end. An entry guide extends out from the second end of the shank for guiding the fastener into engagement with the second member. An alignment rod extends out from the entry guide for aligning the fastener with the second member. The fastener also includes at least one wing extending out from the shank for engaging the second member and urging the second member into constant engagement with the entry guide.
