摘要： An assembly of the present invention includes an electronic connector (1) and a vacuum placement cover (30). The connector includes a housing (10) and a plurality of contacts (20). Two side walls (103, 104) are separated from a tongue member (12) of the housing by a pair of grooves (11) at both sides of the tongue member. The vacuum placement cover comprises a cover member (31) having a cover plate (34) with a flat top surface (311) for receiving a vacuum pick-up force for placement of the connector. Two side plates (33) depend from opposite sides of the cover plate and fit against outer surfaces of the side walls to keep the cover from wobbling and to protect the side walls from deflecting under the force of the cover. Two resilient clamping members (32) are formed on longitudinal sides of the cover plate, each clamping member comprising two opposite gripping legs (320) for clamping opposite faces of the tongue member.

An inner side (42) of the ring has ribs (420) formed thereon. The ribs securely engage with an outer surface (302) of the sleeve. A pair of latches (41) extends from the ring and engages with barbs (312) formed by the mating portion of the housing and located in holes (311) of the housing to secure the ring on the outer surface of the sleeve (30).

The mating beam of the lower contact is shorter than the mating beam of the upper contact and is apart from and above the supporting means with a distance which is within the spring limitation amount of the mating beam of a corresponding lower contact retained in the housing.

The protector (30) comprises a top ledge (31) having a pair of tongues (311) formed on opposite ends thereof, and a base (32) having a pair of opposite side latches (321) at the bottom thereof. Each latch has a hook (322) formed at the free end thereof. The tongues of the top ledge and the latches of the base engage the sidewalls of the insulative housing to assemble the insulative protector to the insulative housing.

摘要： An audio jack connector includes an insulating body (6) and a plurality of terminals retained therein. The insulating body comprises a front wall (68), a top wall (69), a bottom wall (61), a pair of side walls (62, 63), and a rear face (64) opposite to the front wall. A receiving space (601) is defined through the insulating body from the rear face to a projecting portion (65). The bottom wall defines a first slit (604) in communication with the receiving space. The top and bottom walls together define a plurality of slits (605, 606, 607) from the rear face toward the front wall. A first terminal (1) is received in the first slit from the bottom wall and a plurality of terminals (2, 3, 4) are received in the plurality of slits defined in the insulating body from the rear face. The design of the body and terminals gives greater strength to the audio jack than certain jacks of the prior art had.
