Abstract: Systems and methods for managing the temperature of an energy storage system are provided. In some embodiments, the energy storage system includes a housing, a first terminal, a second terminal, an energy storage element disposed within the housing, a thermal management system, and a controller. In some embodiments, the energy storage element are configured to electrically connect to a load or a grid via the second terminal. The thermal management system is configured to manage a temperature within the housing and also configured to receive power from an external power source via the first terminal.
