Abstract: A runner or mat for use in a screening area includes a carpet, an anti-microbial agent coating the carpet, a film having an anti-microbial agent, and an adhesive adhering the film to the anti-microbial treated carpet. The runner or mat can have indicia, such as an outline of a pair of feet, soles of shoes or advertising, provided thereon. The runner or mat protects people from foot infections when walking barefoot or with socks through the screening area.
