Abstract: A valve device includes a shaft, a valve body, and a housing including a valve opening. An outwardly facing surface of the valve body is out of contact with the housing and a valve-facing surface is in contact with the housing in a fully closed state in which the valve body closes the valve opening. A valve seal surface includes a first valve seal surface protruding in a valve closing direction and a second valve seal surface recessed in a valve opening direction. A first seal distance in a radial direction from an outer diameter end of the first valve seal surface to a rotation axis is shorter than a second seal distance in the radial direction from an outer diameter end of the second valve seal surface to the rotation axis. The first valve seal surface and the second valve seal surface each have at least a curved surface.

Abstract: A valve device increases or decreases a flow rate of EGR gas. The valve device includes a housing, a bypass valve body, an EGR valve body. The housing includes a first upstream passage into which the EGR gas cooled by an EGR cooler flows, a second upstream passage into which the EGR gas that bypasses the EGR cooler flows, a junction connected to each of a gas-flow downstream side of the first upstream passage and a gas-flow downstream side of the second upstream passage, and a downstream passage connected to the first upstream passage and the second upstream passage via the junction. The bypass valve body opens and closes the second upstream passage. The EGR valve body is provided in the downstream passage, rotates around an EGR valve axis.

Abstract: An apparatus has a turbulence generator valve which is arranged in an intake air passage. The valve generates turbulence in a cylinder of an engine. The valve receives an intake flow torque TA by flow of intake air. The valve is driven by an electric motor in an electric actuator. Reverse transmission torque TB is necessary to rotate the electric motor in the electric actuator when the electric motor is not activated.
