Abstract: In a ranging module, a first calculator calculates a distance from a processed signal corresponding to a current pixel. A determiner determines whether the distance calculated by the first calculator differs from a preset limit distance. A re-extractor is configured to, in response to the determiner determining that the distance differs from the preset limit distance, extract pieces of data of processing sections each corresponding to a sweep time of a transmission wave from a time-series of the processed signals saved in a data storage corresponding from a pixel previous to the current pixel in a scanning direction of a scanner to the current pixel while shifting the processing sections one after the other by a time period shorter than the sweep time. A second calculator calculates the distance from the data of each processing section extracted by the re-extractor.

Abstract: An optical scanner includes a light receiving unit, a reference light irradiating unit, and a light-receiving-side correcting unit. The light receiving unit includes an optical phased array that implements scanning by a light beam by individually controlling phases of a plurality of branched lights using a scanning phase amount. The reference light irradiating unit generates reference light and irradiate the reference light onto the light receiving unit. The light-receiving-side correcting unit estimates a phase shift amount that occurs in the plurality of branched lights as a result of distortion of a substrate on which the light receiving unit is mounted from a detection result of the light receiving unit onto which the reference light is incident, and sets a phase adjustment amount to be applied to the plurality of branched lights such that the estimated phase shift amount decreases.

Abstract: An optical scanner includes a light source, an optical phased array, a monitoring light receiving unit, and a signal processing unit. The optical phased array implements scanning by a light beam by individually controlling phases of a plurality of branched lights into which light supplied from the light source is branched, using a scanning phase amount, and radiating light from an antenna array that has a plurality of antenna elements. The monitoring light receiving unit receives light radiated from the optical phased array. The signal processing unit detects characteristics of the light beam from a detection result of the monitoring light receiving unit and generate a phase adjustment amount for correcting the scanning phase amount such that a detection value of the characteristics coincides with a design value prepared in advance.

Abstract: A control circuit includes: an angular velocity calculator calculating an angular velocity of a mirror based on an angle of the mirror; a target angular velocity calculator calculating a target value of the angular velocity; a resonance frequency detector detecting a frequency of vibration of the mirror using the angular velocity and target value; a drive waveform generator generating a drive signal having sawtooth waveform; and an unnecessary vibration controller optimizing the drive signal to reduce an unnecessary vibration of the mirror based on the frequency of vibration of the mirror and providing piezoelectric elements with voltage according to the optimized drive signal. The resonance frequency detector detects the frequency of vibration of the mirror using a waveform and the target value of the angular velocity of the mirror during a duration in which the drive signal is transmitted to the unnecessary vibration controller from the drive waveform generator.
