Abstract: Capturing obscured areas in an oral cavity of a patient by providing a dental instrument with a camera to capture at least an area of operation of the dental instrument and comparing two-dimensional (2D) images from the camera with a three-dimensional (3D) model of the patient's jaw to compute a position of the camera or dental instrument in relation to the patient's jaw. Information about a deviation of one or more actual dental process parameters from one or more corresponding planned dental process parameters are displayed.
