Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a panoramic tomographic image (1, 11, 60) of an object (2) to be recorded using a 2D panoramic X-ray device (3), in the course of which X-rays (4) produced by means of an X-ray source (5) irradiate the object (2) and are acquired by means of an X-ray detector (7), wherein, during a movement of the X-ray source (5) and the X-ray detector (7) around the object (2), a number of 2D X-ray projection images (30) are acquired from different acquisition directions (6). A first panoramic tomographic image (1) is calculated from the acquired 2D X-ray projection images (30) using a reconstruction method, wherein the acquired 2D X-ray projection images (30) are modified using a modification method, wherein, from the modified 2D X-ray projection images (40, 50) and using the reconstruction method, a second panoramic tomographic image (11) is calculated with a higher weighting of artifacts (20) relative to anatomical structures (17, 18, 19), wherein a third panoramic tomographic image (60) with significantly reduced artifacts is calculated.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for editing a panoramic radiography image of an examination object generated by a panoramic X-ray machine, comprising: an input interface for receiving the panoramic radiography image as well as reconstruction data of the panoramic radiography image, the reconstruction data including information on a course of projection lines of the panoramic radiography image between an X-ray source and an X-ray detector of the panoramic X-ray machine as well as information on an image surface of the panoramic radiography image; an evaluation unit for evaluating the reconstruction data and for determining an image section of the panoramic radiography image that has been generated on the basis of one of the projection lines with two intersection points with the image surface; an image editing unit for editing the panoramic radiography image based on the determined image section; and an output unit for outputting the edited panoramic radiography image. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for editing a panoramic radiography image of an examination object generated by a panoramic X-ray machine as well as a diagnosis system for examining a craniomaxillofacial area of a patient.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for reconstructing a dental DVT image, including: (S1) providing a sinogram acquired through an extraoral dental X-ray device during a rotation of at least 180 degrees around a patient's head and an initial projection geometry; (S2) geometry calibration through varying the projection geometry and evaluating the varied projection geometry using data consistency constraints derived from a first volume generated from the sinogram using the varied projection geometry in a first reconstruction method, the first reconstruction method using first reconstruction parameters; (S3) generating a final volume with a final reconstruction method using the varied projection geometry and final reconstruction parameters from the sinogram, the first reconstruction parameters of the first reconstruction method and the final reconstruction parameters of the final reconstruction method differing in at least one reconstruction parameter.
