The boom is preferably of tubular construction and the bifurcated portion is pivotally connected to the support tower. A unitary, generally conical gantry structure provides a rigid, uniform support for the slew bearings which allow for rotation of the boom.

摘要： A reeved bucket assembly for use in a material handling apparatus is disclosed. The assembly includes a clamshell-type bucket to which is secured hold cables fixed to diagonally opposite end portions of the top region of the bucket. The hold cables are reeved over sheaves supported by an elongated mounting arm secured at an acute angle to the underside of a main trolley. The trolley is provided with mounting means for arranging it on a boom member or the like for longitudinal movement therealong. The acute angle of the mounting arm, the longitudinal axis of which extends laterally of the trolley, is measured from the front side thereof which faces the trolley, the rear side of the arm facing the bucket. Support means are provided for supporting the mounting arm to the trolley for selective rotation about the transverse axis thereof. The hold sheaves are supported by frames which are rotatable with respect to the mounting arm about axes extending laterally, with respect to the arm. The mounting arm, the means for rotatably supporting the arm on the trolley, and the sheave carrying frames are constructed and arranged such that when the mounting arm is rotated the bucket will rotate without tilting while the hold sheaves remain in fixed planes with respect to the bucket. Close sheaves supported by the mounting arm and close cables reeved over the sheaves and connected directly to the bucket are also provided.

摘要： A bulk material handler is supported by a pivotable truck and two independently steerable and independently driven main wheels which stradle a loader equipped boom. For movement in a direction generally parallel to the boom, the main wheels are turned in synchronism in parallel planes. For slewing, the main wheels are turned in opposite directions until their rolling axes intersect the turning axis of the truck. For linear movement transverse to the boom, the main wheels are turned until their rolling axes are parallel to the boom. The vertically rotatable boom is pivoted at a point above the turning axis of the truck.

摘要： Material digging and transporting apparatus having particular application to the unloading of bulk material from ships, includes an elongated downward tapering ladder frame which rotatably supports a large upper sprocket wheel and a smaller lower sprocket wheel. An endless chain carrying a number of spaced buckets which pick up material while passing around the lower sprocket and dump the material toward the inside of the loop as they pass around the upper driving sprocket, as guided for a substantial distance between the upper and lower sprockets by guide rollers mounted on the ladder frame. An idler wheel engaging an unsupported portion of the endless chain between the upper sprocket and the guide rollers on the descending run may be selectively positioned along a path transverse to the path of the chain to adjust the slack in the chain which permits the buckets to be drawn over the bottom of the hold for cleanup. The elongated ladder frame may be pivotally suspended from a boom positioned over the ship''s hold for rotation about an axis concentric with the axis of rotation of the upper sprocket.

摘要： Material handling apparatus having particular application to continuous unloading of bulk cargo from ships is disclosed. Basically, the apparatus includes a vertical mast with a laterally extending boom pivotally supported at one end to the mast. A power operated trolley is supported by the boom and is arranged, as with cooperating wheels and rails, to move longitudinally along the boom. A bucket elevator ladder frame is pivotally mounted at its upper end portion to the trolley. The ladder frame supports upper and lower sprockets, the upper sprocket preferably having larger diameters than the lower ones. An endless chain means forming a closed loop is supported by the sprockets. Spaced buckets are fixed to the chain means. A conveyor is carried by the boom and is arranged to receive material discharged from the buckets as they move around the upper sprockets, and to convey the material toward the mast. Hoist means supported by the mast are provided for lifting and lowering the boom. Counterweights are supported by the mast and are connected to the boom for counterbalancing the weight of the boom.
