Abstract: A water-dispersible, air-drying uralkyd resin comprising the reaction product of a) of at least one fatty acid modified polyester polyol comprising components i) at least one unsaturated C6 to C30 fatty acid; ii) at least one aromatic monocarboxylic acid; iii) at least one (cyclo)aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or (cyclo)aliphatic dicarboxylic anhydride; iv) at least one polyol; b) at least one polyol having a hydroxyl value in the range of from 50 to 350 mgKOH/g; c) at least one polyol bearing ionic and/or potentially ionic water-dispersing groups with a weight average molecular weight≦500 g/mol; and d) at least one polyisocyanate.
