Abstract: The present invention relates to animal feed compositions comprising polypeptides having muramidase activity and uses thereof. Feeding broilers with feed comprising muramidase resulted in a dose-dependent increase of blood carotenoids. Administration of the supplemented feed could likewise increase blood levels of zeaxanthin, lutein, vitamin A, vitamin E and sialic acid.
