Abstract: The present invention provides genetically engineered host organisms capable of producing terpenoids. The present invention also relates terpenoids obtained from such genetically engineered organisms. Examples of the produced terpenoids include carotenoids, ionones, abienol, and other isoprenoid derived compounds.
