摘要： A fixing device includes a fixing rotator rotatable in a rotation direction, a heat source to heat the fixing rotator, a pressure rotator contacting the fixing rotator, a nip formation pad to form a fixing nip between the fixing rotator and the pressure rotator, a slide sheet, and an adhesive part. The slide sheet between the fixing rotator and the nip formation pad contacts an inner circumferential face of the fixing rotator. The slide sheet has a center part and both end parts in an axial direction orthogonal to the rotation direction. The adhesive part bonds the slide sheet to the nip formation pad. The adhesive part includes a first adhesive part on the center part and a second adhesive part on one of the end parts. The first adhesive part has a first area, and the second adhesive part has a second area smaller than the first area.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a fixing device, and circuitry. The image forming section forms an image on a recording medium. The fixing device includes a rotator including a flexible endless belt, a pressure rotator pressed against the rotator to form a nip between the rotator and the pressure rotator, a heater heating the rotator, and a movable shield. The movable shield is disposed between the heater and the rotator to shield the rotator from radiant heat generated from the heater and is movable according to a size of the recording medium. The circuitry is configured to control the image forming section to form the image on the recording medium based on an image forming condition and change at least one of an operating temperature of the movable shield or a shielding amount of the movable shield based on the image forming condition.

摘要： A fixing device includes a first rotator and a second rotator that form a nip therebetween and fix an image on a recording medium that enters the nip. A heater heats at least one of the first rotator or the second rotator. A controller controls the heater to switch between a first heating and a second heating, to switch from the first heating to the second heating before the recording medium enters the nip, to start the second heating at a time prior to a nip entry time at which the recording medium enters the nip by a delay time period taken for the heater to conduct heat to the nip, and to continue the first heating before the second heating for at least one control cycle at a duty cycle of power supplied to the heater. The duty cycle is not greater than 40%.

摘要： A fixing device includes an endless belt rotatable in a predetermined direction of rotation and a nip formation assembly disposed opposite an inner circumferential surface of the endless belt. An opposed rotary body is pressed against the nip formation assembly via the endless belt to form a fixing nip between the endless belt and the opposed rotary body through which a recording medium bearing a toner image is conveyed. A belt holder contacts and supports each lateral end of the endless belt in an axial direction thereof. In a case in which the fixing member is halted for a reason other than the fixing process while power of the fixing device is on, electric power is not supplied to the heat source and the fixing member is rotated by a predetermined amount or more after the fixing member is halted.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device. The fixing device includes a rotatable endless fixing member, a nip forming member arranged inside the fixing member, a pressing member in contact with the nip forming member via the fixing member, and a heating source configured to heat the fixing member. 摘要： In an embodiment, provided is a fixing device that includes: a fixing belt rotatable and endless; a belt holding member holding the fixing belt at each end part in an axial direction; a heat source heating the fixing belt; a nip forming member provided inside the fixing belt; an opposing rotator forming a nip portion between the opposing rotator and the fixing belt via the fixing belt; and a separating member that extends near the nip portion and separates a recording medium from a surface of the fixing belt. A leading end of the separating member is provided with a receding portion and an approaching portion that is at a different position from a position of the receding portion different in the axial direction. The approaching portion is provided nearer to the nip portion than the receding portion is provided.

摘要： A fixing device including a fixing member, an opposing member, a plurality of heat sources, and a voltage detector. The opposing member is disposed opposite the fixing member to contact the fixing member to form a nip portion at which an unfixed image on a recording medium is fixed. The plurality of heat sources heats the fixing member. The voltage detector detects an applied voltage of at least one of the plurality of heat sources.
