    摘要: A banking system is controlled responsive to data read from data bearing records. The banking system includes an automated banking machine. The machine is operable to carry out a financial transaction for a person responsive to a determination that the person is an authorized user of the machine based on correspondence between identifying data read by a reader of the machine and data store information. The machine includes a check acceptor that is operative to receive checks from authorized machine users. The check acceptor is operable to continuously move a received check along its transport path while simultaneously rotationally orienting the check into alignment with the transport path. A check determined not to have at least one property of an acceptable check is returned to the machine user. Acceptable checks are processed and stored in the machine.

    摘要: The present invention provides a high speed, multi-ported, direct data flow memory architecture that employs memory width and speed greater than system bus width and speed to allow shallow burst depth and reduce other-port latencies, while maintaining multi-port throughput. The inventive system has a data storage device (SDRAM) and a multiplexer connected to the SDRAM. Two or more interfaces or ports are provided with data sourcing controllers respectively connected to the interfaces. A communications bus connects the SDRAM to the data sourcing controllers for facilitating data communications. A FIFO buffer memory is located between the multiplexer and the data sourcing controllers. The need for retries is eliminated and host bus widths are matched to memory data width. Read-ahead algorithms are provided that adapt the larger system bus burst sizes to the smaller memory burst sizes with the ability to cancel unneeded advance requests for data. The total memory bandwidth is greater than that of the sum of the ports, so that the small memory burst size inefficiency does not reduce throughput below target levels. Write data is selectively masked to eliminate the need for read-modify-write cycles. Reads and writes can begin and end on arbitrary byte addresses, regardless of memory or bus widths.

    摘要: An apparatus for transferring thermal energy to or from a battery cell is disclosed, which includes a thermally conductive plate enclosing a conduit in communication with an inlet for receiving a heat transfer fluid stream and being configured to cause the fluid to flow through the plate to an outlet. The plate has a surface for receiving thermal energy generated by operation of the battery cell and is operable to couple thermal energy to the fluid. In one aspect the plate includes first and second opposing walls and the conduit includes a first conduit portion formed in the first wall and a second corresponding conduit portion formed in the second wall defining the conduit. In another aspect the conduit includes an aperture in a central wall and first and second cover walls on either side of the central wall. The cover walls enclose aperture and provide a seal.
