    摘要： A disposable, single-use, generally elongate diaper having substantially planar sections at each end and intermediate these planar ends a substantially non-planar section comprising the crotch section. The crotch section is narrower than at least one of the ends and is longitudinally constricted by elastically extendible means secured to each of the edges of the crotch section in a manner which produces a plurality of gross transverse rugosities across the width of the crotch section of the diaper when the elastic means is in non-extended condition. The width dimension of the crotch is preferably within a predetermined percentage range of the combined width of the planar waist sections. The length dimension of the narrower crotch section is preferably a specified percentage of the full unconstricted length of the diaper. A further improvement is obtained if the geometry of the side edges between the wide waist section and the narrower crotch section is defined by a concave arc.

    摘要： A distinctive absorbent article has a front waistband portion, a back waistband portion and an intermediate portion which interconnects the front and back waistband portions. The article comprises a backsheet layer, and an absorbent retention portion superposed on the backsheet layer. A liquid permeable topsheet layer is superposed on the retention portion and connected to sandwich the retention portion between the topsheet and backsheet layers. A laterally extending bridge flap is configured to extend over a body-facing surface of at least one waistband portion of the article. The bridge flap has an elasticized, laterally extending, substantially fixed edge region attached to the at least one waistband portion of the article; an elasticized, laterally extending movable edge region positioned longitudinally inboard of the substantially fixed edge region; and longitudinally extending, substantially fixed side edge regions at laterally opposed side ends thereof. The bridge flap includes a selected width dimension which extends laterally between the bridge flap side edge region and a selected length dimension which extends longitudinally between the fixed and movable edge regions of the bridge flap. The bridge flap movable edge has a substantial extensibility, and has a selected elastic tension. The bridge flap movable edge is desirably arranged to bridge a substantial distance.

    摘要： An anatomically form-fitting generally self-adjusting disposable absorbent garment and methods of integrating and using the garment. The garment comprises a breathable elastomeric nonwoven fabric outer cover resiliently stretchable in cross-body direction, including a pair of leg openings, front and rear waist sections fastenable with one another defining a waist opening, a crotch section situated between the leg openings and opposing front and rear panels separated by the crotch section. An absorbent insert structure is substantially superposable on the front and rear panels and the crotch section, including a liquid impermeable barrier, a liquid permeable body side liner and an absorbent composite disposed therebetween. The absorbent insert has opposed longitudinal ends which are attached to the outer cover by bonds or snaps at selected waist attachment zones, defining one or more free-span zones of the outer cover underlying the insert and having substantially unrestricted functional stretchability therein. The insert may also be attached along the leg openings.
