    摘要: A cover plate on a holographic optical element (HOE) device corrects for aberrations, such as spherical aberrations. The HOE device includes an emulsion material, having a recorded interference pattern that can perform diffraction, sandwiched between a first element and a second element, wherein the second element functions as the cover plate. One of the surfaces of the second element is aspheric to correct for aberrations. The aspheric shape of the surface adds approximately equal and approximately opposite aberrations associated with light rays diffracted by the recorded interference pattern, thereby substantially improving focus.

    摘要: An apparatus and method determines light transmission through a window. The window may be a single-pane or a double-pane window, and may or may not have coatings on its interior/exterior surfaces. Light transmission through the window can be measured based on power levels of light incident on the window and light reflected from the window. Such measurements can be performed for a wireless optical telecommunication system, in situations where it may be difficult or impossible to access both sides of a window to place or retrieve measurement equipment.
